Our building started life as the local school in 1880. Since 1956, the village hall has been a hub for our small rural community of 49 homes.
We're open all year for Borley residents and their families and friends. We host a harvest supper, charity coffee mornings, a New Year's Eve party, and summer get-togethers. Visiting tutors run arts and craft classes.
What does Borley mean? Experts suggest it's a compound of the Saxon words "Bap" and "Ley", that is "Boar's Pasture" – hence a nifty flying boar as our mascot.
The hall is available for hire for events. The hall can seat around 36 people but is easily configured to provide a cosy environment for smaller meetings. Standard hire fee is £30 for half a day (or less), £60 for a full day. Please contact home@borleylodge.com to discuss your needs. Concessionary rates may be available.
